Quote from George W. Bush, during a bi-partisan meeting concerning the Patriot Act.

-"Don't throw the Constitution at me. It's just a goddamn piece of paper!"

June,
I think we are beyond the point of no return.
Esecially, with the economy. People are losing
their homes, and ability to survive.
This one man has retreated too far from who we
were, we will never get back to who we are.

AZRON,
I'll have to check that out. I always
thought they included "America" in the
oath.
I didn't notice that, Thanks,
Joe

chandabear,
Bill Clinton left this dumb ass a lot of money in the bank.
Granted, we did have 9-11, but he screwed that all up too!
We could have had the world on our side. Now, we have them
against us.
Saddam was going to convert to Euros in oil dealings.
That's why Bush was in such a hurry! Now the dollar isn't
worth the paper! We are screwed!

JOE: HELLO. Hope this finds you and yours doing WELL and in GOOD health these days.

BOB BARR, former Republican who helped engineer President Clinton's IMPEACHMENT hearings etc., is NOW a LIBERTARIAN candidate for PRESIDENT in 2008.

Even HE, TESTIFIED before a Congressional Committee how HE thought the Patriot Act was UNCONSTITUTIONAL and how HE was AGAINST it strongly.

In the OLD days, the REPUBS USED to say, "Keep the GOVERNMENT OUT of our lives and OUR bedrooms" (Reagan).

WHAT the HECK happened??? Grrrrrr.

To THIS DUMB old geezer, NO political party or ANY one president, should EVER be able to go AGAINST the U.S. Constitution and the presidential oath of office.

SHAME on WE THE PEOPLE, CONGRESS and BOTH PARTIES for ALLOWING such to happen and even more, for NOT stopping it ONCE it was KNOWN!!

My BEST,

TallPockets.

TallPockets,
The only way we can get some of this back is to
elect Democrats, and I'm not too happy with that either!

Joe:

You might remember that he also said that he had a lot of political capital that he was going to spend - and that became more important than the U.S. Constitution.

Joe:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

That is the oath for Presidential office of these United States..I know of no other United States with our Constitution...America is selfevident in this Proclomation....

lalepop,
It's true. I guess it doesn't have to say,
United States, of America. It would be nice, but
not, necessarily, necessary!
