Pagans don't wear sandals!

I had a talk with my friend
Back to Full Blog

So it’s February, 2008, and my doctor finds a “spot that is more prominent” than it was in last year's tests. Hey folks, it’s CT scan, ex-ray, and PET scan, time! Yes, it is there again, in the same area where the left Adrenal gland use to be. Some people will rent to anybody! I dwelled on the horror of the past.
“My God, I’ve got it again!”

"Mr Coleman, we have a problem,' my mind said. "Troops are massing around the left kidney again. It appears they don't seek peace." I look at it, seriously.
"Okay well, there is nothing we can do but negotiate a settlement."
"Sir, the last time we tried, we couldn't get through. His attorney is not accepting out calls.
"Did you try 'Him"?"
"Well, no sir, he never negotiates!"
"Get "him for me, I'll talk to him."

Hello, my friend, nice of you to drop in.
It has been seven years since we last talked.
You are always such a dependable sin.
I can not know of your return,
intelligence being what it is; but, can we walk?
I see you as a challenge to my continuing.
Your craft has an element of crime to it;
but look, I wanna live, that is my only desire.
You always bring the bad news of life, from your asylum.
How many games do I have to play until we both wear down?
I am very tired.
No, I’m not angry, I just don’t understand you.
I wish only, for a peaceful coexistence.
But, I know why you do this. You are not fooling me.
You come to us with your violence and dread.
You love the fear you bring, and all of its traps, reaping.
But the pain I have endured has sent me to the Cathedral.
You are driving me to good. You knew that, didn’t you?
Because of you, I have found an inner peace.
I now see the Nature of all of this.
I guess that’s why the air heals my body,
the water cleanses my soul,
and the earth seems to need me.
I am a gardener; I understand the earth.
It is you, who brought that light to me.
Oh, I understand the time.
The time is so little, yet oh so much!
Time doesn’t matter, when you embrace it.
It is full of second, a very long time itself.
Each, and every, child of time is an eternity.
Each drop of water is a world.
On each piece of the dirt, is a massive convolution of life!
It was you, made me realize that.
For this, I love you.
So I have found something, and I want so, to stay.
Can’t I just, ‘be’?
Can’t I just, ‘be’?

The time is so little, yet oh so much!
Time doesn’t matter, when you embrace it.
It is full of second, a very long time itself.
Each, and every, child of time is an eternity.
Each drop of water is a world.

Its so true, every moment is precious, we always see it passing by so quickly yet each second is important and it isn't until we face the impending end of it all, that we truly recognize its worth,
You are not taking it for granted are you Joe.
Neither have I, not since my cousins lives were short from cystic fibrosis, how could I. Breathing is so essential to remain.
Be good to yourself Joe,
I for one am glad you won again!

Always thinking of you, CM

Taylor,
I've decided to give Cancer the
same love and respect I give anyone else,
who punches me out! Hey most of the guys
who knocked me on my ass are now friends!
What the hey! You can't lose can you?

WP,
Yes, our lives are just a whisper in the wind.
And, it's like March today, in heaven (Iowa).
The Nature seems mad at something. I had to chase
my trash cans down the alley this morning.
And I can no longer run like I use to. I use to
be able to outrun the cops! Now, Sister Carmaleta and
I would be an evern match! (She was a Nun at St Vincent's
Orphange. She was a nice one, though!).
I am feeling good , and the peace negotiations are
a little one-sided, but continue.

AZRON, You used a word that is really climbing the
charts with me.
The word "friend" has takern on greater meaning.
My old boss even sent me a $100 check, for gas expenses.
I really felt that one. I've always said: "Who has more
fun than people!". Love is in there now, with fun.
And why shouldn't it be.

joe:

It's not how many moments one has; it is what one does with each moment - that is what counts.

June,
You are so right. Peace is a golden thing.
I hate to put it in such a gross way, but
when I finally had a bowel movement, after
the surgery, the peace within me was, literally,
draining!
I felt a lift, as if I had lost 10 pounds,
which may have been true!
I feel good today. Thanks for the mind-words,
Joe

CM,
And it's been a long time since I heard thunderstorms
in winter! Crazy weather. It is blowing and cold, like
March here! Is God breaking in a new guy or something?

Joe,

the most serious losses in my life have been the deaths of my friends (even more significant than my parents' deaths) which is why I have a number of blogs on friend loss on my couchtalk blog.

take care, friend

AZRON,
Friends are exetended family.
Our friends become a true source of
inspiration, love, adn lifelong
connection. Loss of a friend becomes
more actual, the older we grow.
My cousin died a few years ago. He
was a very close friend of mine. We
made an agreement to get most drunk,
whoever went first.
I'm sorry Mike, I was coming out of
my second Cancer battle, and had to
renege on our promise. He was from the
Fitzpatrick side of the family, so a
promise of gettint drunk is a very serious
matter! Thank you AZRON.
Friends are gold. Friends here, are platinum!

If I had me a silver bullet
I tell you what I would do
I'd take that silver bullet
And hand it right off to you

Always a good day when I visit with you, Joe. Your strength is an inspiration to me. May the garden's bounty bring you joy and tasty eats.

Happy Trails,

Prank

Prank,
If I can keep the Starlings out of my garden,
I'll have fresh, plup Tomatoes by July. I think
the Starling are up in my Apple trees, laughing
their asses off, waiting for me to leave. Then
the bastards pull my plants up, and LEAVE THEM!
They don't eat them, they just leave them there
to die! But I'll beat them if I have to call
the CIA!
I sizzling steak oin the grill, juicy Corn
on the cob, and fresh garden Tomatoes are
my all-time favorite meal. With beer of course,
and the Cardinal game on the redio. Whoa Daddy,
that is heaven here in Iowa.
Thanks for the encouragement.
